Are you an ambitious FP&A professional looking for more than just a forecasting and reporting role? Do you want genuine exposure to senior leadership, the freedom to challenge the business and a clear route towards broader finance leadership? I am working with a complex, growing organisation looking for an ambitious FP&A Manager. You'll work directly with senior leaders, take ownership of major planning and commercial initiatives, and play a visible role in shaping decisions across a complex, multi-site business. For someone with the ambition to broaden their influence and build towards finance senior leadership roles, this offers significantly more than a traditional FP&A Manager position.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading budgeting, reforecasting and financial planning across multiple entities and operational units.
- Analysing revenue, volume, labour, headcount and operational performance to identify trends and opportunities.
- Turning complex or loosely defined business problems into structured financial analysis and practical recommendations.
- Challenging operational and senior stakeholders on performance, assumptions and proposed actions.
- Reviewing Capex and Opex business cases, including payback, investment assumptions and benefit realisation.
- Identifying and tracking cost-saving and revenue-generating initiatives.
- Supporting senior management and Board-level reporting, including presenting the financial story behind performance.
- Building and improving financial models covering areas such as revenue, labour, headcount and cash flow.
- Working closely with Operations, Procurement, Transactional Finance and Financial Accounting.
- Supporting strategic and ad-hoc commercial projects.
- Improving FP&A processes, systems and automation.
What we're looking for:
- We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong experience across FP&A, commercial finance or finance business partnering.
- You should be able to understand a commercial problem, work through the underlying data, form a view and confidently present your recommendations.
- You'll ideally bring:
- Strong FP&A experience across budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
- Excellent commercial and business partnering capability.
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Experience working with operational and commercial stakeholders.
- The confidence to challenge assumptions and hold stakeholders accountable.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- The ability to explain complex financial concepts in straightforward language.
- Experience within a high-volume, operational or multi-site organisation.
- A strong interest in finance systems, automation and improving ways of working.
Why consider this role?
This is a particularly strong opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond traditional FP&A production and become a genuine commercial finance leader. You'll join an established finance function with strong accounting and FP&A support around you, giving you the opportunity to focus on higher-value work: challenging the business, improving forecasting, solving commercial problems and influencing senior decision-making.
This role offers:
- Significant exposure to senior leadership.
- Close working relationship with the Head of Finance.
- Genuine influence across operational decision-making.
- Ownership of major UK planning and forecasting activity.
- Exposure to strategic projects and investment decisions.
- Opportunity to modernise FP&A processes and systems.
- Strong longer-term progression potential.
