We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Delivery Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex engineering programmes across the full project lifecycle.
The Role
As an Engineering Delivery Manager, you will take ownership of engineering delivery across major programmes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with technical teams, stakeholders, and project leadership, you’ll coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities from concept through integration, verification, and final delivery. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical leadership capability, a systems-thinking mindset, and experience operating within regulated or configuration-controlled environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering delivery across the full systems engineering lifecycle
- Manage engineering work packages to meet cost, schedule, quality, and performance targets
- Develop and maintain Engineering Management Plans
- Support bids, estimation, planning, and resource forecasting activities
- Coordinate engineering teams across multiple disciplines
- Drive system design, architecture, and interface management activities
- Lead stakeholder engagement and facilitate design reviews
- Oversee Integration, Verification, Validation & Qualification (IVVQ) activities
- Identify and manage programme risks, issues, and opportunities
- Ensure compliance with engineering governance and configuration control processes
About You
You’ll be a confident engineering leader with proven experience delivering complex engineering programmes in highly regulated environments.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven track record delivering complex engineering or technical projects
- Strong understanding of engineering lifecycles and systems engineering principles
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, resources, and engineering deliverables
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Knowledge of IVVQ and configuration-controlled environments
- Strong leadership, planning, and risk management capability
- Degree-qualified in Engineering or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
Desirable
- Chartered Engineer status
- Defence, aerospace, rail, automotive, or other safety-critical industry experience
- Understanding of Lean and Agile methodologies
- IPMA certification or equivalent project delivery experience
- Leadership or coaching qualifications
- Service Leaver applications welcomed
