Akkodis is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to work on advanced maritime systems. You will be responsible for designing, integrating, and verifying electrical and electronic systems for naval platforms, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and military standards.
Responsibilities:
- Design and integrate complex electrical/electronic systems (COTS/MIL-COTS)
- Develop new designs and maintain existing installations
- Define mechanical and electrical interfaces and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
- Support trials, system integration, EMC compliance, and CE/UKCA approvals
- Prepare technical documentation (test specifications, proof-of-design, etc.)
Requirements:
- Proven experience in electrical design, including electronics packaging and cabling
- Experience designing for platform installations (ships/submarines)
- Knowledge of EMC, CE marking, and the Low Voltage Directive
- Experience developing system/sub-system test specifications and interconnection design
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively
Desirable:
- Experience with deployment systems or hardware product development
- Electronic packaging solutions
Education:
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Chartered Engineer status is desirable
