Akkodis is a global leader in engineering, technology and R&D, supporting major clients across aerospace, defence, mobility, software, cybersecurity, AI and data analytics. We are currently looking for a Configuration and Data Management Engineer to support complex aerospace and defence engineering projects based in Crawley.

This role will focus on supporting Configuration Management activity across the full product lifecycle, working closely with engineering, business and operations teams to ensure configuration data, baselines and change processes are accurate, consistent and controlled.

Key responsibilities:
  • Support Configuration Management activity across complex engineering projects
  • Implement and maintain Configuration Management plans
  • Ensure configuration data is complete, accurate and consistent across PLM systems
  • Support the definition of CM requirements for suppliers and subcontractors
  • Contribute to configuration item selection and breakdown structures
  • Participate in and occasionally manage Change Control Boards
  • Support functional and physical configuration audits
  • Support end-of-phase reviews and wider lifecycle governance
Required experience:
  • Previous experience within defence or aerospace is required
  • Experience working across the full product development lifecycle, from concept through to sustainment
  • Strong understanding of Configuration Management principles, baselines and engineering change control
  • Good knowledge of systems, hardware and software configuration practices
  • Experience using PLM tools such as PALMA or Windchill
  • Experience supporting configuration audits, change boards and technical reviews
Key skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and appreciation for data integrity
  • Process-driven, analytical and organised approach
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable working with engineering, business, operations, suppliers and subcontractors
Required education:
  • Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience within Configuration Management
