We're working on a number of new Senior Python Developer opportunities within a major Financial Services technology environment, supporting significant investment across trading, regulatory and enterprise engineering platforms. These are long-term hires rather than short-term backfill, with multiple teams looking to bring in experienced Python Developers who are comfortable building business-critical applications in a complex banking environment.

You'll be working closely with engineering and business stakeholders to design, build and enhance Python applications supporting a mixture of markets, regulatory and front-office technology. Depending on the team, there may also be opportunities to work with AI-assisted development tooling, security-focused applications and new Proof of Concept initiatives. The environment is fast-paced and engineering-led, so we're looking for people who can take ownership of their work, communicate well with stakeholders and contribute beyond simply picking up development tickets.

We're looking for:

  • Strong commercial Python development experience
  • At least a couple of years' experience working within finance environment
  • Experience building enterprise-scale applications
  • Financial Services / Banking experience
  • Comfortable working within Agile engineering teams
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience across Trading, Front Office technology, Regulatory Technology, security-focused development or AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot would all be beneficial, but aren't essential.

The initial option is a 12-month contract at £700/day Inside IR35, working 3 days per week from a London office. There is also flexibility for candidates who would prefer something longer term, with permanent opportunities up to £100,000 and 12-month FTC options up to £120,000 available.
