Akkar is hiring a Content Creator to bring our employer brand to life across social media. We have an offshore marketing team handling broader brand strategy, but we need someone based onsite who can plan, shoot, produce, and deliver authentic video and photo content that shows what it's really like to work at Akkar. This is employer brand content and is deliberately distinct from the B2B marketing content the Marketing team produces, sitting primarily on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. This is a hybrid, flexible role (starting at a few days a month) for someone who wants hands‑on creative delivery work on a growing employer brand channel, without the constraints of a full‑time in‑house schedule. Direction, priorities, and final sign‑off sit with HR and Internal Recruitment.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan, shoot, and produce video and photo content for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, with occasional crossover to LinkedIn.
  • Take content ideas from concept to publish‑ready post with minimal hand‑holding, ready for sign‑off.
  • Capture day‑to‑day culture, team moments, and employer brand storytelling onsite in Hove and other Akkar locations.
  • Appear on camera yourself where the content calls for it, presenting, hosting, and interviewing colleagues.
  • Attend and film at Akkar‑hosted social events and conferences (occasional, in addition to core days).
  • Edit footage into platform‑native formats: short‑form vertical video, carousel photo posts, longer‑form YouTube content.
  • Collaborate with the offshore marketing team to align content with brand guidelines, campaigns, and posting calendar.
  • Submit all content for sign‑off by Abi (HR Manager) or Callum before anything is published.
  • Work with HR and Internal Recruitment to identify and shape content that supports hiring and employer brand goals.
  • Contribute creative ideas and develop them with HR, Internal Recruitment, and the Marketing team, who also feed ideas into the content plan.

Who You’ll Work With

  • Internal Recruitment & HR: Primary point of contact for planning shoots, sourcing story ideas, and aligning content to hiring goals.
  • Marketing Team (Offshore): Brand guidelines, content calendar alignment, channel strategy, and input into creative ideas; you are the on‑the‑ground execution partner.
  • Wider Business / Team Members: Subjects, interviewees, and hosts for content; comfort working with non‑camera‑trained colleagues is essential.
  • Leadership (CEO & Senior Team): Occasional involvement in flagship content pieces and event coverage.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven portfolio of video/photo content created for social, ideally including employer brand, recruitment, or B2B/corporate work.
  • Confident shooting and editing solo; you can turn up with a plan and leave with a finished, on‑brand asset.
  • Strong understanding of what performs on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube respectively, and where LinkedIn occasionally fits; one size does not fit all channels.
  • Comfortable directing non‑professional talent (colleagues, candidates, leadership) to get natural, engaging footage.
  • Confident and natural in front of the camera yourself; happy to present, host, and interview on camera.
  • Willing to represent yourself to subjects as part of the Akkar team rather than an external contractor, so colleagues, candidates, and clients experience you as an internal colleague.
  • Own or can access core kit: camera, mic, basic lighting, and editing software.
  • Professional at all times and camera‑ready: dressed appropriately for a B2B corporate environment on Akkar sites, at client‑facing events, and at conferences.
  • Based near or able to reliably travel to Hove; open to occasional travel to other Akkar sites or events.
  • Self‑sufficient on the day, but comfortable working to direction and within an approval process; all output is signed off before it goes live.
  • Bonus: experience creating recruitment, talent, or workplace culture content specifically.

Working Pattern

  • Core commitment: 2-4 days per month, scheduled in advance around Akkar's content calendar.
  • Output target: 2-3 published posts per week across the core channels; content is batched during onsite days and drip‑fed across the month.
  • Occasional extras: coverage of Akkar‑hosted social events and conferences, agreed and scoped separately from core days.
  • Flexible by design: this is built to flex up if the partnership works well for both sides.
