Role Overview: You will be responsible for defining, managing, and validating the requirements for Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS) in automotive applications. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, testing, and simulation to ensure ABS systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. You will also play a key role in system integration, testing, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Requirement Definition: Define and document functional, non-functional, and safety-related requirements for ABS systems in collaboration with stakeholders. Develop system-level requirements including braking performance, fault detection, diagnostics, and safety mechanisms. Ensure traceability, verifiability, and compliance with industry standards such as ISO 26262.
- Stakeholder Communication: Work with hardware, software, and validation teams to ensure feasibility and implementation of requirements. Collaborate with suppliers on requirements for sensors, control units, and hydraulic systems. Serve as the main point of contact for ABS requirements across integration and testing teams.
- System Design and Architecture: Contribute to architecture decisions ensuring support for ABS functionality, safety, and performance. Support development of safety-critical features such as emergency braking and stability control. Analyze trade-offs to meet cost, performance, and safety targets.
- Validation and Verification: Develop and maintain ABS verification and validation plans across development and production. Work with test and simulation teams to design test cases for ABS performance under various conditions. Ensure integration of ABS software with vehicle control systems, including ESC.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in systems engineering, particularly in ABS, ESC, or automotive braking control systems. Proven experience in defining, managing, and validating system requirements. Familiarity with ISO 26262 and braking system regulatory standards.
- Skills: Strong understanding of ABS technology, braking system design, vehicle dynamics, and control algorithms. Proficiency in tools such as IBM Rational DOORS, PTC Integrity, or similar for requirements management. Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for simulation and modeling in ABS development.
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
