Role Description
The Sub-Contractor Security Engineer is a one off job role based in Bedfordshire responsible for installing and configuring security systems at client location. Tasks include assessing site requirements, installing and testing CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and related hardware, as well as performing routine inspections, troubleshooting faults, and completing repairs. The role supports our Senior Engineer onsite. The Security Engineer will document work performed, maintain accurate records of equipment and configurations, coordinate with the central operations team. This role requires adherence to safety standards, efficient time management, and a strong focus on customer service and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and related hardware and software.
- Experience with on-site installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of security equipment in commercial or residential environments.
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues efficiently, including basic networking for security devices.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and compliance requirements related to field engineering and on-site work.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Relevant technical certification or vocational training in electronics, security systems, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in security engineering, field service engineering, or a similar role is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on a buddy contract scheme with Akita.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Bedfordshire and nearby areas.
