We are an active solar EPC contractor delivering utility-scale PV projects. We are looking for a Solar Site Engineer to take ownership of on-site engineering execution and quality control across the construction lifecycle — from civil and structural works through electrical installation, commissioning, and handover. You will be the technical point of reference on site, ensuring every stage is built to design, specification, and standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day site engineering activities and translate design drawings (civil, structural, electrical) into accurate field execution.
- Lead quality control on site: develop and enforce Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), conduct material inspections, and sign off work against project specifications.
- Verify pile/foundation works, mounting structure installation, torque values, and module mechanical fixing.
- Inspect DC/AC electrical works — string layouts, cabling, terminations, earthing, inverter and transformer installation.
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), track corrective actions, and maintain QA/QC documentation and as-built records.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, surveyors, and the project manager to keep works on programme and within quality requirements.
- Support commissioning, testing (e.g. insulation, continuity, IV-curve, thermography), and snagging through to handover.
- Enforce HSE standards on site and contribute to a strong safety culture.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering (or equivalent).
- (4+) years of site experience on solar PV, electrical, or large civil/infrastructure construction projects.
- Solid ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of QA/QC processes, ITPs, and NCR management.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving on site, and clear documentation discipline.
- Willingness to work on-site / relocate as required; valid driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience with utility-scale (MW-range) PV construction.
- Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g. IEC 62446 for commissioning; for UK sites CDM 2015 awareness, SMSTS/SSSTS, BS standards).
- Commissioning and electrical testing experience.
What We Offer
- Exposure to a growing cross-border solar portfolio.
- Career progression within an active EPC pipeline.
