Join Akin’s market-leading Investment Management team in London as a Counsel (5-6 PQE) and play a pivotal role in advising some of the world’s most sophisticated hedge funds and credit funds. Our representation of a broad range of asset managers and institutional investors gives us proprietary insight on emerging trends across all major strategies, and especially in the hedge and credit space.
The team advises numerous top-of-the-market hedge funds and credit funds in relation to fundraising and establishment, negotiating managed account structures and related UK regulatory obligations.
We also advise numerous LPs and institutional investors on investments into funds and managed accounts.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead on sophisticated investment management matters across hedge funds and credit funds.
- Act as a trusted adviser to clients and mentor junior lawyers.
- Drive business development initiatives and contribute to the team’s growth strategy.
Key Requirements
- 5-6 years’ PQE in investment management at a leading US, Magic Circle, or Silver Circle firm.
- Proven experience across both hedge funds and credit funds.
- A product-agnostic mindset and flexibility to work across diverse fund structures.
- Highly organised, commercially astute, and adaptable.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

- The Team is currently made up of 3 partners (Ian Meade, Tim Pearce and Hamish Annandale), plus 2 Counsels, 4 Associates and a Trainee.
