To establish and maintain effective relationships with local employers, supporting the fulfilment of vacancies and the successful placement and retention of participants into sustainable employment. The role focuses on local employer engagement, matching, starts, sustainment and close working with delivery teams and offices within an agreed geographic cluster.

Key Relationships/Interactions

  • Internal
    • Local Employer Services Manager: Work closely to deliver local employer engagement plans and office priorities. Maintain visibility of employer activity, vacancy flow and outcomes. Support the delivery of local targets and improvement actions.
    • Employment Coaches / Business Managers / Delivery Teams: Work closely to understand participant needs, aspirations and readiness for work. Share vacancy information and coordinate matching and placement activity. Collaborate to align employer engagement with office priorities and local demand.
    • National Employer Services Team: Receive and fulfil opportunities generated by the national team where appropriate. Provide local market and employer feedback to strengthen national account activity.
  • External
    • Local Employers: Engage with local employers to understand recruitment needs and develop opportunities for participants. Build and maintain strong local relationships that support vacancy fulfilment and longer-term partnership. Promote the value of working with AKG and the benefits of inclusive recruitment.
    • Local Networks / Chambers / Community Partners: Participate in local employment networks and events to strengthen employer reach and labour market knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain local employer relationships, support vacancy fulfilment and work closely with delivery teams to achieve starts and sustainment.
  • Local Employer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers across the agreed cluster.
  • Opportunity Development: Identify and develop local vacancy opportunities aligned to participant and office needs.
  • Vacancy Fulfilment: Support vacancy fulfilment through matching, coordination and employer liaison.
  • Starts and Sustainment: Work closely with delivery teams to support starts and sustainment outcomes.
  • Account Management: Maintain clear and accurate records of employer and vacancy activity in agreed systems.
  • Employer Events and Engagement Activity: Support local employer events, recruitment activity and engagement initiatives.
  • Labour Market Insight: Maintain a strong understanding of the local labour market and employer trends.
  • KPI Achievement: Work to agreed KPIs linked to employer activity, starts, sustainment and service quality.
  • Promotion of Social Value: Promote the social value and practical benefits of inclusive hiring.

Essential/Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Essential:
    • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with employers.
    • Experience in employer engagement, recruitment, employability or related activity.
    • Strong communication and organisational skills.
    • Experience working to performance targets.
    • Good understanding of local labour market conditions.
    • Ability to maintain accurate records and use agreed systems effectively.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience in supported employment or inclusive recruitment.
    • Experience working closely with delivery teams to support starts and sustainment.
    • Knowledge of social value and community impact.
    • Established local employer or stakeholder networks.
