| Primary Purpose and Objectives: | The Engagement and Enrolment Officer is responsible for supporting learner and employer engagement activity across AKG Learning’s Adult Skills provision. The role holder will sit within the Enrolment and Learner Engagement Team and will be managed by the Learner Engagement and Partnership Lead. The role will focus on engaging prospective learners, supporting them through the early stages of enquiry and enrolment, and working with employers and partners to create referral routes, course demand and progression opportunities. The role holder will work closely with enrolment, sales, operations, marketing, delivery, quality and compliance teams to support learner starts, contract performance, learner experience and accurate reporting. A key success factor is being able to build positive relationships with learners, employers and local partners while taking a hands-on approach to follow-up, events, pipeline management and conversion. | ||

| Key Responsibilities | |||
| 1. Learner Engagement and Attraction · Engage prospective learners through calls, emails, events, campaigns, partner referrals and local engagement activity. · Promote AKG Learning Adult Skills programmes clearly and professionally to prospective learners and referral partners. · Provide initial information on available courses, eligibility, start dates, delivery models and next steps. · Support learners to make informed decisions about the right learning route for their needs, goals and eligibility. · Maintain regular contact with learners from initial interest through to handover into enrolment and onboarding. · Follow up quickly and consistently to reduce learner drop-off before enrolment. · Identify barriers that may prevent learners from engaging, applying or starting, and support learners to move forward. · Support learner attendance at information sessions, interviews, events and enrolment appointments. 2. Employer Engagement · Engage employers to identify training needs, learner opportunities and potential Adult Skills course demand. · Promote Adult Skills courses to employers as a way to support recruitment, workforce development and progression. · Build and maintain relationships with local employers linked to agreed sectors, contract priorities and learner progression routes. · Support employer-led cohorts, sector-based activity and guaranteed interview opportunities where relevant. · Gather employer insight to help shape course demand, learner preparation and progression opportunities. · Maintain regular contact with employers and record agreed actions, opportunities and follow-up activity. · Support employer events, webinars, jobs fairs and local recruitment activity where required. 3. Referral Routes and Partnership Support · Support relationships with Jobcentre Plus, local authorities, charities, community groups, employability providers and other referral partners. · Generate learner referrals from agreed partners and support clear referral routes into AKG Learning programmes. · Attend partner meetings, careers events, community events and local engagement activity where required. · Explain AKG Learning’s offer, learner journey, support arrangements and progression routes to partners. · Work with partners to improve the quality and suitability of referrals. · Share local insight, learner needs, barriers and opportunities with the Learner Engagement and Partnership Lead. 4. Enrolment Support · Support learners to complete the actions required before enrolment and onboarding. · Help learners with digital forms, online systems, evidence collection and communication where required. · Check learner readiness and flag issues relating to eligibility, suitability, support needs or programme fit. · Provide clear handover information to the enrolment team, including learner interest, suitability, support needs and next steps. · Keep learners updated on dates, requirements, expectations and next steps. · Escalate any concerns relating to safeguarding, Prevent, compliance, learner suitability or programme fit. 5. Pipeline Management and Conversion · Maintain accurate records of learner enquiries, referrals, employer leads, planned starts and conversion activity. · Track learner progress from enquiry and referral through to enrolment and start. · Follow up consistently with learners, employers and partners to support conversion. · Work towards agreed targets for learner referrals, enrolments, starts, course fill rates and employer engagement activity. · Provide regular updates on pipeline, risks, gaps, planned activity and progress. · Use data and feedback to identify drop-off points and recommend actions to improve conversion. 6. Marketing, Campaigns and Events · Support learner recruitment campaigns across Adult Skills provision. · Attend open days, webinars, employer events, jobs fairs and community events to promote AKG Learning programmes. · Share learner and employer feedback with Marketing and internal teams to support future campaigns. · Support the creation of learner and employer-facing content where required, including emails, flyers, event information and partner communications. · Help promote course dates, sector routes, learner success stories and progression opportunities. 7. Quality, Compliance and Safeguarding · Follow AKG Learning policies, procedures and compliance requirements. · Provide clear and accurate information to learners, employers and partners. · Maintain accurate and complete records across agreed systems and trackers. · Promote equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility throughout engagement and enrolment activity. · Identify learners who may need additional support or reasonable adjustments. · Treat learners fairly and respectfully throughout the engagement process. · Escalate concerns linked to safeguarding, Prevent, eligibility, suitability, health and safety or programme fit. | |||
| Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience | |||
| · Experience delivering learner engagement, employer engagement, enrolment support, recruitment, sales, employability or similar activity. · Experience working with learners, customers, employers, referral partners or local stakeholders. · Experience promoting programmes, services or opportunities to external audiences. · Experience managing a learner, customer, employer or referral pipeline and following up consistently. · Experience working towards targets linked to starts, enrolments, referrals, conversion, sales or customer engagement. · Ability to provide clear information, advice and guidance to learners or customers. · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · Strong organisation, planning and follow-up skills. · Ability to build effective relationships with learners, employers, partners and internal teams. · Confident using CRM systems, learner management systems, trackers and Microsoft Office. · Good attention to detail and accurate record keeping. · Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remove barriers to learner engagement. · Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team. · Understanding of safeguarding, Prevent, equality and learner support responsibilities. · English and maths at minimum GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent, or willingness to work towards. | |||
| Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience | |||
| · Experience working in adult education, Adult Skills, ASF, Bootcamps, commercial training, employability or funded training. · Experience working with Jobcentre Plus, local authorities, charities, employers or community partners. · Experience supporting learner enrolment or onboarding processes. · Knowledge of learner eligibility, suitability and funded training requirements. · Experience supporting employer-led training, recruitment activity or sector-based programmes. · Experience attending events, jobs fairs, webinars or community engagement activity. · Experience using CRM systems to manage learner, employer or partner pipelines. · IAG qualification at Level 3 or willingness to work towards this. · Digital marketing or social media experience. · Experience supporting learner progression into work or further learning. |
