JOB PURPOSE
As a Community Engagement Navigator, you will be involved in engaging with vulnerable individuals across several fields such as substance misuse, criminal justice, homelessness, mental health, domestic abuse, and sex working. You will assess their needs and deliver personalised support to encourage positive changes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and engage with those in need around the Derby Area.
- Carry out assessments and case work focusing on harm reduction.
- Liaise and network with partner agencies and feed into strategic multi-agency groups.
- Complete referrals to other agencies.
- Conduct risk assessments and regular reviews in line with risk management protocols.
- Maintain a caseload of clients and offer tailored advice and guidance.
- Compile statistics and progress reports, including monitoring of caseloads.
- Hot desk around partner services to build and maintain healthy working relationships.
- Evaluate and monitor work as required and update monitoring databases.
- Identify ways to develop and improve project services for vulnerable people in Derby.
- Proactively engage with difficult and vulnerable clients.
- Advocate on behalf of clients with external agencies.
- Motivate and help clients access pathways to accommodation.
- Accompany clients to appointments and encourage self-representation.
- Negotiate support plans and ensure benefits are maximised.
- Undertake welfare checks where required.
- Provide practical and emotional support to clients.
- Work with Service Lead and Designated Safeguarding lead on safeguarding matters.
- Support your Line Manager through relevant activities and meetings.
- Undertake any other duties as required.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver high-quality provision to learners.
- Support the development and collation of product evidence through timely data collection.
- Liaise with and provide training to partner agency staff.
- Highlight any issues or areas of concern with your line manager.
- Promote and support the mission, vision, and values of the company.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Ensure familiarity with partner agency policies regarding Health & Safety, Safeguarding, and incident reporting.
- Identify learning, development, and training needs.
- Perform any other duties as tasked by your Line Manager or Company Directors.

Essential Criteria:
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary, multi-agency environment.
- Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with stakeholders.
- Project management skills and experience.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Well-developed literacy and numeracy skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Hold a current driving licence and/or have access to transport.
