HSSE Specialist - Life Cycle

Aker Solutions is seeking an experienced HSSE Manager to support its Life Cycle projects across the UK and Angola. This senior role offers the opportunity to safeguard established operations while helping shape more agile, simplified and digitally enabled approaches to HSSE across a varied project portfolio. Reporting to the VP, Head of HSSE, you will work closely with project and operational leaders to embed HSSE culture, strengthen assurance and ensure project activities meet company, client and legislative requirements. The position is based in Dyce, Aberdeen.

What will you be doing?

• Work with the responsible project managers to ensure a culture of HSSE is embedded throughout the Life Cycle UK & Angola projects
• Work with/Support the HSSE UK & Angola Life Cycle segment organization to align HSSE strategies and plans for the geographical areas
• Develop and execute project HSSE plans and risk management processes throughout project start up, execution, and close out
• Ensure the HSSE Management System is embedded within our operations and activities
• Take a lead role in the development of project HSSE procedures, ensuring that HSSE is embedded in operational procedures
• Act as a changemaker, identifying and implementing opportunities to improve procedures and best practices related to HSSE
• Assure that all HSSE activities for the projects are planned, organized and executed according to project, company and legislative requirements
• Conduct verification activities of HSSE performance such as thorough reviews, audits, data analysis and management reviews
• Ensure all HSSE elements in the Project Execution Model are completed to pass gate reviews
• Perform HSSE walks/inspections and task assurance activities
• Be an active participant/lead in incident investigations, assisting with the implementation of corrective and preventative actions while recording the process in Synergi
• Focus on embedding HSSE throughout the value chain to ensure the project can meet its business and HSSE objectives
• Contribute to chemical management (registration in Chess)
• Play an active role in ESG initiatives
• Complete the HSSE reporting, through Synergi, on a monthly basis – including monitoring CO2 emissions
• Lead external audits related to HSSE

We think you should have:

• Demonstrable relevant experience of working in an HSSE Department within a brownfield Oil & Gas service company environment
• Formal training in the ISO 9001, 45001 & ISO 14001 Standards
• NVQ 4/NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
• Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
• Qualified lead auditor (ISO 9001, 45001 or 14001) is desirable
• Qualified investigator (Kelvin Topset or 8D)
• Working knowledge of ISO 14001 would be beneficial
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Working knowledge of Synergi
• Commercially aware and customer focussed
