The Life Cycle segment within Aker Solutions are specialists in managing, executing, and delivering small, medium, and large complex projects from feasibility studies, frame agreements and EPCI. Life Cycle UK is now supporting a 3-year Frame Agreement that covers primarily Maintenance and Modification at Equinor’s offshore platforms Heidrun, Njord A and B, Asgard A and B, Troll A, B and C, Heimdal, and Johan Sverdrup in the North Sea Norwegian sector, as well as the onshore facility at Tjeldbergodden (Norway) and is looking for engineering and design discipline Project personnel to join us.

We are looking for a Senior Piping Designer to join our team based in our Aberdeen (AIBP) office.

What will you be doing?

• Carry out engineering design tasks in a professional manner that ensures technical quality and safety integrity is maintained, whilst performing all duties in a highly competent and efficient manner.
• Ensure project deliverables are prepared according to Aker Solutions procedures, systems, and tools.
• Preparation of discipline deliverables for input to studies and project estimation.
• Design development of new / replacement pipe systems utilizing central project applications including 3D modelling tools, laser scan data and offshore surveys.
• Input to discipline deliverables needed for onshore prefab and offshore installation.
• Ensure delivery according to schedule, within budget and in accordance with company QA/QC procedures.
• Liaison with client project and facilities engineering to develop and execute modification project scopes of work for the piping discipline.

We think you should have:

• HNC/HND degree from a piping background or similar with solid experience in front end studies, FEED and/or EPCI projects from energy sector.
• Track record in Piping Designer role(s) from a minimum of one FEED, E&P or EPC project.
• Must be able to input and control pipe information in 3D model, (E3D/PDMS or Navisworks).
• Capable of making and checking of 2D drawings in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Ability to manage and plan own work scope.
• Hard working conscientious individual capable of working on one’s own initiative.
• Good communicator and team player.
• Strong work ethics and a proactive attitude.
• A commercial mindset.
• The ability to see solutions together with meeting customer expectations and requirements.
• The competency to be accurate, flexible and organized.
• Knowledge of relevant Norwegian regulations and standards preferred but not essential.
• Willing to work in a hybrid structure with regular visits to the primary office.
• Willing to build up a competency in Aker Solutions systems & tools and to integrate with the core project team.
• Preferably experience with Equinor Frame Agreements, projects, systems, and tools.
