Our London team provides front-end studies, engineering, procurement and project management services for initiating and executing oil & gas field, offshore wind HVDC, renewable energy and carbon capture developments. Our Business very much depends on our people; all our major achievements are team efforts.
We are currently looking for Talanted Weight Engineer for our New Build team, the role will be based at our Chiswick office, UK
What will you be doing?
- Ensuring weight control is executed in accordance with the Project Execution Model / Plan (PEM/PEP) and in accordance with the schedule, budget and contractual requirements, keeping a focus on Quality and HSE aspects.
- Monitoring the weight control schedule and manhour budget.
- Co-ordinate work, planning and resources to align with other engineering disciplines.
- Retrieving of weight and centre of gravity information from the 3D model.
- Validating of weight and centre of gravity information provided by disciplines.
- Validating weight information against historical data.
- Produce, review or approve technical reports, SOW, Basis of Design, and ensure that technical requirements are met.
- Review and import best practice tools and procedures to ensure continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain good client relations.
- Risk management, to identify project threats and opportunities related to weight control.
- Keeping the Engineering Manager and Client representative informed of weight control progress.
- Support tender preparation. Review tender documentation; prepare SOW requirements and schedule of deliverables. Provide man-hour estimates and manning requirements.
- Review and approve 3 rd party documentation including but not limited to T&I Contractor, vendor and fabricator
- Provide weight control assessment over changes identified within the Change Management Process
- Support, mentoring and coaching of Weight Engineers
We think you should have:
- Have extensive knowledge and experience in weight control for fixed and mobile offshore oil and gas production facilities or wind platforms.
- Be familiar with methods and norms for providing weight estimates and COGs for offshore installations through all design phases, such as study phase, concept definition, pre-FEED, FEED
- Support maintenance of experience data base.
- Have excellent understanding of the relevant rules and codes of practice for weight control procedures for offshore installations, such as API, ANSI, Norsok, DNv, Noble Denton and ISO 19901-5.
- Knowledge of Aker Solutions WEMS system is beneficial
- Proficient communication and interpersonal skills, being able to work and collaborate with other colleagues
- Knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks Freedom, Simulate and AutoCAD is beneficial
- Knowledge of E3D
- Experience in large EPC projects, particularly within lump sum environments.
- Experience in vendor packages and modules weighings is beneficial
