Role Overview
The Head of Construction & Commissioning (C&C) is accountable for leading a multi‑disciplinary function across the UK Life Cycle portfolio, setting the strategy, direction, and performance standards for construction and commissioning delivery. Operating at I‑Low level, the role is responsible for shaping and executing functional strategy, managing resources and capability at scale, and ensuring alignment with broader business objectives. The position requires strong leadership through others, influencing senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to deliver safe, predictable, and commercially effective outcomes in an increasingly complex environment.
Functional Leadership – Strategy, Direction & Accountability
- Define and execute the Construction & Commissioning functional strategy aligned to business objectives.
- Lead a multi‑disciplinary team of managers and specialists, setting expectations for performance.
- Establish a scalable operating model and take accountability for functional performance, resources, and cost control.
- Influence senior stakeholders to deliver business outcomes.
Portfolio Leadership – Delivering Through the Organisation
- Provide senior leadership oversight across the portfolio, ensuring alignment to strategy and performance expectations.
- Support Project Directors and intervene at a strategic level on key issues.
- Manage competing priorities and ensure coordination across multiple projects and assets.
HSE & Quality – Leadership Ownership
