Covering our 3 sector approach, covering the Energy, Civil Engineering and Residential Sectors, AKELA Construction now has vacancies for Site Engineers to complement our dynamic delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Core site engineering responsibilities, including setting out of works using engineering drawings, specifications, site instructions and control points.
  • Deliver key elements of external civil works, such as pavement construction, road surfacing, kerb laying, and drainage installation, ensuring compliance with project and regulatory standards.
  • Operating Trimble Total Station and GPS surveying equipment for accurate data capture and layout.
  • Carry out take offs and material reconciliations.
  • Carry out Quality checks and completion of ITPs.
  • Carry out site inductions.
  • Coordinate daily operations with subcontractors and site team.
  • Manage the full project cycle of assigned tasks from site setup to final handover and maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Interpret and implement technical drawings, method statements, and risk assessments, contributing to safe and efficient on-site execution.
  • Contribute information to allow the full collation of as-built drawings.

Experience & Requirements

  • Experience as a Setting out engineer.
  • Good team skills.
  • Must hold a full UK driver’s license.
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Must have worked on civils / highways / residential schemes.
  • HNC/HND/Degree in civil engineering would be beneficial.
  • First Aid, NRSWA are desirable but not essential.

Predominantly Central Belt, Scotland with the opportunity to work throughout Scotland.
