We Are Hiring for various HGV Driver roles within Akela Plant Hire.

Location: Thornliebank, Glasgow

Class 1 Driver – Responsibilities

As a class 1 driver, you will be responsible for the safe transport and delivery of construction materials to our sites with our Tri-Axle Trailers, ensuring loads are secured in line with company and legal requirements. You will be expected to complete daily vehicle checks, complete/maintain accurate paperwork and work closely with site teams and the transport department. This role will also involve work on our Rigid/HIAB Vehicle delivering plant and equipment to and from our sites.

Requirements:
  • A valid class 1 (C+E) Driver CPC and Driver Digi Card (essential)
  • Strong knowledge of safe loading/unloading, load security and compliance with tachograph & driver hours rules
  • Plant Loader/Securer Ticket (beneficial)
Class 2 (Cat C) ADR Tanker Driver – Responsibilities

As an ADR tanker driver, you will be responsible for delivering fuel into all plant/machinery across all our construction sites. You will be expected to complete daily vehicle checks, complete/maintain accurate paperwork to ensure all deliveries/fuel uplifts are accurate and to work closely with site teams and the transport department.

Requirements:
  • 2 years ADR driving experience (preferred)
Tipper Driver – Responsibilities

As a tipper driver, you will be responsible for the safe transport and delivery of materials to and from our sites. You will be expected to complete daily vehicle checks, complete/maintain accurate paperwork and work closely with site teams and the transport department.

Requirements:
  • 2 years tipper experience (preferred)
