Role Overview
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Finance Director will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. The role will lead and develop the finance function, ensuring systems, processes, reporting and controls are fit for purpose as the organisation grows in scale and complexity.
Key Responsibilities
- The remit will span financial strategy, cashflow and working capital management, governance, and performance reporting, alongside providing commercial insight on project performance, investment opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
- This individual will act as a trusted business partner to the leadership team, supporting decision‑making through robust financial modelling, forecasting, scenario analysis and enhanced management information.
- Over time, there is also potential for the role to evolve in scope as the wider AKELA Group continues to expand.
Qualifications and Experience
We are seeking an accomplished finance leader, qualified at CA, ACCA, ACMA or equivalent level. Experience in construction, engineering, energy or similarly project‑led environments would be advantageous but not essential. Strong technical capability, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence and collaborate at senior level are essential, alongside a hands‑on and pragmatic approach suited to an entrepreneurial, owner‑managed business.
