Responsibilities
- Participate in Quality Improvement Activities involving appropriate resources.
- Support manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, R&D, purchasing and other related resources in quality improvement.
- Support the development of planned activities to improve quality, including developing action plans, assigning responsibility and target dates with the team.
- Research sources with experience in Technology, Product, Process, and related areas to aid quality improvement or process development.
- Assist Quality Improvement Project activities, documenting and tracking results of actions.
- Assist problem solving and verification of countermeasures with the team.
- Lead internal and external meetings related to quality improvement projects.
- Provide guidance, technical support and analysis for improvement projects and processes.
- Support the team in all aspects of quality improvement projects and processes.
- Support team in all aspects of quality improvement and VA/VE.
- Be a key member in PPAP processes, transfer projects, and launch activity (cradle to grave).
- Update and maintain Quality KPI data and information.
- Support APQP process through attendance and participation in CR and CFT meetings.
- Report quality system results and metrics.
- Support problem solving via phone as necessary.
- Act as IATF Internal Auditor.
- Support R&D testing and data analysis for Japan/N.A. as applicable.
- Perform print reviews.
- Serve as key representative (lead) for customer quality related visits.
- Support record retention activities.
Document Control Administrator Responsibilities
- Control and maintain all Quality documentation, ABG work instructions for quality and production, and the procedure master index.
- Maintain ABG document control system.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Control and maintain records in accordance with the record retention procedure.
- Collect and track Level 1, 2, and 3 layered process audits.
- Upload ABG prints to Alfresco and maintain electronic work instructions.
- Maintain Quality Department budget tracking spreadsheet.
Education And/or Experience (minimum Required For The Position)
- Two (2) years of experience as a Quality Engineer.
- 4-year college degree in engineering or technical field (preferred).
- Minimum of 4 years in Quality field; quality/statistical/problem solving training classes/seminars; Six Sigma, Shaninβs techniques (preferred).
- Familiarity with automotive customer quality requirements and industry standards (preferred).
- Materials, brake product knowledge/experience (preferred).
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Written and verbal communications skills.
- Proficiency with office software.
- Blueprint reading, GD&T; basic understanding of metrology.
- Experience in automotive or manufacturing industries and PPAP, APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, MSA, GR&R, SPC; manufacturing process experience.
- Strong organizational skills.

This position requires: the ability to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stand; speak and hear; and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. The work environment is mostly sedentary with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate.
