Support the quality improvement and technical areas in the manufacturing production areas.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Participate in Quality Improvement Activities involving appropriate resources.
- Support manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, R&D, purchasing and other related resources in quality improvement.
- Support the development of planned activities to improve quality (Develop action plan, assign responsibility and target dates with team).
- Research all sources that have experience with Technology, Product, Process, etc. that can aid in quality improvement or process development.
- Assist Quality Improvement Project Activity (Document and track results of actions).
- Assist problem solving and verification of countermeasures with team.
- Lead internal/external meetings related to Quality improvement projects.
- Provide guidance, technical support, and analysis for improvement projects and processes.
- Support team in all aspects of quality improvement projects and processes.
- Key member in PPAP process, transfer projects, and launch activity (cradle to grave).
- Update and maintain Quality KPI data and information.
- Support APQP process through attendance and participation in CR and CFT meetings.
- Report quality system results and metrics.
- Support problem solving via phone as necessary.
- IATF Internal Auditor.
- Support R&D testing and data analysis for (Japan / N.A).
- Perform print reviews.
- Key representative (lead) for customer quality related visits.
- Support record retention activities.
Document Control Administrator Responsibilities
- Control and maintain all Quality documentation.
- Control and maintain all ABG work instructions for quality and production.
- Control and maintain all procedure master index.
- Maintain ABG document control system.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Control and maintain records in accordance with record retention procedure.
- Collect & track levels 1, 2, and 3 layered process audits.
- Upload ABG prints to Alfresco.
- Maintain electronic Work instructions.
- Maintain Quality Department budget tracking spreadsheet.
- Perform internal auditor duties.
- Other assignments as required.
Education and/or Experience (minimum required for the position)
- Two (2) years of experience as a Quality Engineer.
- 4-year college degree in engineering or technical field, preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years in Quality Field; Quality/statistical/problem solving training classes/seminars, Six Sigma, Shanin’s techniques, preferred.
- Familiarity with Automotive customer’s quality requirements and industry standards, preferred.
- Materials, Brake product knowledge/experience preferred.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Communications (written/verbal) skills.
- Use of office-related software for office use.
- Blueprint reading, GD&T, basic understanding of metrology.
- Experience in automotive or manufacturing industry and PPAP, APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, MSA, GR&R, SPC, Manufacturing Process.
- Organizational skills.
