Your new company is a long‐established electrical contractor with over 35 years in the industry, delivering electrical solutions across a diverse range of sectors including industrial, healthcare, commercial, and residential. Renowned for its high standards, large‐scale project execution, and strong footprint across Scotland and further afield covering the UK.
Your new role as our Electrical Estimating Manager based in Central Scotland from either our Edinburgh or Glasgow Office, with some hybrid working if this suited, involves managing a dynamic and experienced estimating team. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical systems in building projects. This includes reviewing tender documentation, identifying technical and commercial discrepancies, and ensuring all estimates meet project specifications and client expectations. You will also lead internal meetings, maintain detailed records, and support the project handover process upon award and throughout the project to completion by liaising with the Contracts Managers.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Core electrical qualifications (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds)
- Ideally, HNC / HND in Electrical or Building Services Engineering
- Proven experience as a Senior Estimator/Estimator within the building services or electrical contracting industry
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and adhere to industry best practices
- Strong client relationship management and communication skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across our estimating and installations teams
- Familiarity/experience with Trimble Estimation Software
