Akari Care seeks a Deputy Manager who is passionate about making a real and positive difference to the lives of older people. Working in collaboration with the Home Manager and the wider multi‑disciplinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient running of the home. This role involves diverse duties across nursing and residential care, open and individualised communication, budgetary and financial controls, and personal accountability for Human Resources. You will act in the best interests of residents and staff, promoting engaging and creative marketing initiatives, and guiding colleagues in training and development, including your own professional growth.

You will provide attention and care to all areas of the home, from personal item laundering to managing highly complex emergencies, and you will lead with confidence and fairness to ensure high standards are maintained by all team members. By aligning with our values of personalised excellence, community spirit, and a compassionate approach, you can develop your knowledge, skills, and abilities to support vulnerable adults with their individual care needs.

What we require from you:

  • Minimum Level 4 NVQ in Health and Social Care
  • Experience of working within the health care sector
  • Management / Leadership experience (essential) and qualification (desirable)
  • Hold an NMC (Nursing and Midwifery) certificate with an active PIN
  • A caring nature with ability to give everyone a personal approach
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes at short notice
  • Ability to work well under pressure without negative impact to those around you
