We seek an Activities Coordinator who is enthusiastic about making a real and positive difference to the lives of older people. Working in collaboration with the Home Manager and the wider team you will be responsible for helping and engaging residents to socialise within the home. This includes providing a variety of activities that cater for all tastes, abilities, cultures and, respecting everyone as an individual, promoting diversity and inclusion at all stages. You will plan and initiate rolling and individual programmes, encouraging residents to maintain pre-existing hobbies and try other activities. You will support colleagues, relatives, and friends to participate in activities with residents to promote socialising and enrich residents’ lives. When possible you will accompany residents to offsite activities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and run activities that cater for different tastes, abilities, and cultures while ensuring individuals are valued and respected.
  • Develop rolling and individual activity programmes; encourage residents to try new activities.
  • Encourage participation by colleagues, relatives, and friends to promote socialisation and meaningful engagement.
  • Accompany residents to offsite activities where possible.
  • Assist with fundraising initiatives and budgeting for entertainment, materials, and outings.
  • Create a supportive, caring, and safe environment that upholds residents’ dignity and independence.
