Job summary

The Procurement and Estates Co‑Ordinator role at Akari Care involves managing procurement processes, supplier relationships and the estates function to ensure value for money and high‑quality services for the organization’s care homes. The role includes leading supply tendering, performance management of key suppliers, and overseeing the estates helpdesk and maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage supply tendering processes to ensure value for money and high‑quality services.
  • End‑to‑end management of tender processes from requirement definition to implementation.
  • Continuous search for optimum supply relationships to mitigate supply chain risk.
  • Performance management of key suppliers using feedback from Home Managers.
  • Manage procurement projects between suppliers and end customers (our care homes).
  • Provision of procurement expertise in cross‑functional projects spanning direct and indirect cost categories.
  • Manage supplier and contractor compliance processes.
  • New supplier set‑ups – end‑to‑end process with supplier and finance colleagues.
  • Work closely with Operations Finance Business Partner to analyse spend data to inform procurement activity.
  • Maintain contract and key supplier listings with up‑to‑date information and ensure budget holders and stakeholders have correct information.
  • Line manage Procurement Administrator.
  • Manage Estates helpdesk function, ensuring reactive jobs are managed through to completion.
  • Ensure PPM tasks are always completed on time.
  • Oversee PPM remedial spend with ongoing tracking and reporting.
  • Maintain and continuously review contractor portfolio, providing regular feedback reviews from Home Managers.
  • Assist with service reviews and quarterly contractor meetings through KPI reporting and performance feedback.
  • Monitor monthly CAPEX spending and track project spend versus budgeted spend for the quarter.
  • Review and monitor reactive activities to minimise spending on repairs via contractors.
  • Coordinate and ensure the review and action on requirement areas following estates risk assessments and regulatory PPMs with Estates managers.
  • Superuser of the CAFM system.

  • Line management experience.
  • Team‑player mentality with strong communication skills.
  • Analytical skills backed by commercial acumen.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Positive, self‑motivated, and able to work effectively without close supervision.

Compensation & Benefits

Job Types: Full‑time, Permanent

Salary: Approximately £40,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus benefits
