Help scale a successful B2B training platform.

About My Client

My client has spent years building something they are genuinely proud of. Their consulting business partners with corporate R&D teams. The co-founders use their expertise to help clients solve complex problems, which keeps clients returning. They also launched a training platform that has doubled in size every year. The approach is practical, feedback is positive, and demand continues to grow. The challenge is that their consulting work is at full capacity. Clients want to work with them directly, but their time is limited. They cannot grow the training side while managing all the consulting themselves. For the first time, they are stepping back and handing over control.

What They’re Building

They are not starting from scratch. The concept is proven, and demand is strong. Now, they need someone to turn this promising side business into a substantial standalone operation over the next three years. This is an ambitious goal by design. Your role will be to create the plan, outline what you need, and make it happen.

What this looks like:

  • Developing new delivery formats and offerings
  • Mix of automated and face-to-face delivery
  • New pricing models and commercial structures
  • Positioning around business impact, not just 'training.'
  • Geographic expansion, particularly into the US and Asian markets

What You’ll Actually Do

Own The Vision and Strategy

You will implement their strategic plan. After that, you will refine it, shape it, and create your own execution plans. You will set the product roadmap, develop the commercial strategy, and work closely with their CMO on marketing.

Drive Revenue Growth

You will be responsible for the P&L and for meeting revenue targets. This includes launching new formats, building partnerships to expand into new regions, prioritising CFO and CEO initiatives, and finding scalable ways to reach new markets.

Building The Right Team

The current team includes the co-founders, an operations manager, a CFO, CMO support, and a network of trained associates. You will decide what else is needed, when to add new roles, and how to build the team within budget. You will handle daily personnel decisions and set up systems for scaling.

Make It Scalable

Build a business that does not depend on the founders for everything. Put systems in place, streamline operations, and establish processes to maintain high quality as the company grows.

Who You Are

Essential:
  • Proven scaler: You have grown businesses from hundreds of thousands to at least £3M in revenue.
  • P&L owner: You are comfortable making commercial decisions, managing budgets, and being accountable for results.
  • International experience: You have expanded businesses into new markets or built strategic partnerships to reach new regions.
  • Self-starter - Comfortable with ambiguity. Can figure things out without much structure or support.
  • Strategic and hands-on: You think about the big picture but are also willing to get into the details.
  • Culture fit: The team is flat, non-hierarchical, and ego-free.

The Practicalities

  • Working pattern: Start with three days a week. This may grow into a full-time role or remain fractional.
  • Compensation: Competitive day rate outside IR35.
  • Timeline: Interviews will be held in January, with an ideal start date of February 2026.
  • Location: Remote role, UK-based candidates preferred.
