Location: London Bridge, SE1

Job Type: Full time (37.5 hours). Fully office based

Direct Reports: Two Marketing Assistants

Job Purpose

The Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing marketing activity for the following portfolio:

  • Aurora Insights (research‑led content and events)
  • Road User Charging (RUC) Conference series
  • CiTTi Awards
  • Robotics and Automation Awards
  • Core Publications (CiTTi Magazine, Robotics & Automation, Logistics Manager)
  • Plus other duties as necessary

The role includes line management of two marketing assistants, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, on‑time marketing activity that meets commercial, audience, and brand objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing plans across email, digital, social media, and print channels.
  • Build targeted campaign plans for each event and publication in the portfolio.
  • Ensure alignment of all messaging and visual identity with Akabo Media’s brand standards.
  • Plan and promote the assigned portfolio of conferences, awards, and webinars.
  • Coordinate promotional materials, timelines, and campaign delivery in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Monitor event marketing performance and make adjustments to improve outcomes.
  • Create, deploy, and analyse email campaigns, including newsletters, event promotions, and targeted campaigns.
  • Use data to segment audiences and improve engagement.
  • Support sales teams by generating, qualifying, and nurturing leads.

Digital Marketing & Social Media

  • Oversee social media activity, with a focus on LinkedIn, to increase engagement and follower growth.
  • Manage paid campaigns where required.
  • Collaborate with the design team to produce engaging content and visual assets.

Website & Content Management

  • Maintain and update event and brand websites via WordPress.
  • Ensure all online content is accurate, SEO‑optimised, and supports campaign objectives.
  • Analyse website performance and implement improvements.

Creative & Content Development

  • Produce clear, accurate, and brand‑compliant marketing copy for all channels.
  • Manage creation of marketing collateral, including event brochures, adverts, and digital banners.
  • Ensure consistency of tone and style across all marketing outputs.

Market & Competitor Research

  • Monitor competitor activity to inform positioning and messaging.
  • Identify new opportunities for audience and brand growth.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Track and report on marketing KPIs including registrations, entries, conversions, and ROI.
  • Present findings and recommendations to the Head of Marketing and senior management.

Stakeholder & Partnership Management

  • Liaise with internal teams (editorial, sales, events, research) to ensure joined‑up marketing activity.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, including media and industry associations.

Line Management Responsibilities

  • Set objectives and priorities for two Marketing Assistants.
  • Provide training, coaching, and regular feedback.
  • Monitor workload distribution and ensure deadlines are met.

Key Skills

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in B2B marketing, ideally within events, publishing, or exhibitions.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Experience using Mailchimp, WordPress, SEO tools, and basic design software (e.g., Adobe Suite or Canva).
  • Strong copywriting skills and attention to detail.
  • Data‑driven approach with ability to analyse and act on campaign performance metrics.
  • Willingness to travel in the UK and internationally as required.
  • Ability to work occasional additional hours to meet project deadlines.
