This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced automotive professional to join a well-established business, supporting the smooth and cost-effective maintenance of a busy car and commercial vehicle fleet.  Based in Harrogate, the role offers Monday–Friday working hours, 08:30–17:30, with a salary starting from £29,000 depending on experience.  Working as part of a supportive team, you will use your technical knowledge and automotive experience to authorise repairs, control maintenance spend and provide an exceptional level of customer service. Job Duties Include: Authorise maintenance and repair work promptly, ensuring accuracy and cost control. Support customers and drivers with SMR queries in a helpful, friendly and professional manner. Maintain accurate customer and vehicle records, ensuring all data is current and compliant. Manage service recalls and MOT reminders within company guidelines. Process maintenance and repair invoices accurately and efficiently. Use your technical knowledge to assess repair requirements and make informed decisions regarding maintenance and repair work. Stay up to date with technical bulletins and industry developments to support effective decision-making. Liaise with customers, drivers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure maintenance issues are resolved efficiently. Monitor maintenance activity and spend, ensuring costs remain controlled and within company guidelines. Maintain clear and accurate records throughout the maintenance process. Support the wider fleet and maintenance team as required. Requirements: Previous experience within an automotive maintenance, fleet or vehicle-related environment. Strong automotive technical knowledge and understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to build strong relationships with customers, drivers, suppliers and colleagues. Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and make sound, confident decisions. Strong problem-solving skills with a practical and proactive approach. Good understanding of maintenance costs and the importance of cost control. Confident using IT systems and maintaining accurate records.
