This role is an exciting opportunity to join the growing AKA Social and Content team and take a leading role in developing our portfolio of Culture and Lifestyle clients - Cultural destinations, London landmarks, Museums, Galleries, Heritage sites, Visitor attractions, Immersive experience - with the versatility to work across our existing Theatre and Live Entertainment portfolio as required. The successful candidate will bring broad cultural sector experience.
The Content & Social Director is responsible for devising and implementing the organic social strategy, as well as the integrated content strategy in the paid campaign in partnership with the Culture and Lifestyle and Theatre departments. The role takes a leading part in shaping the department's output to service the Culture & Lifestyle sector, delivering creative and commercially effective content that drives footfall, engagement, and ticket or visitor sales. The Director also owns client relationships directly and takes an active role in new business pitches and tenders.
The role works closely with the Culture and Lifestyle and Theatre Teams, Audience Insights, Ticketing and Paid Media teams, looking to develop better integration and processes that lead to higher quality work, ultimately increasing sales and profitability for clients and the agency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead organic content strategy across the Culture & Leisure and Theatre portfolios, setting goals and targets that align with each client's wider marketing and commercial objectives.
- Work with the Account Teams on both sides of the business to drive content strategy across the paid social suite, ensuring paid and organic activity are developed as a single content strategy.
- Own client relationships directly across a portfolio acting as a senior, trusted point of contact alongside the account team.
- Develop creative, trend-led content concepts that stop the scroll, reflect the cultural zeitgeist, and position brands within the wider social conversation.
- Capture content on the ground and edit using platform software, briefing and working alongside third party suppliers for bigger shoots.
- Take an active role in new business pitches and tenders.
- Oversee delivery and implementation of monthly content calendars, reporting, and campaign evaluation across both paid and organic activity.
- Proactively identify opportunities to create new, engaging content, and to adapt and share partnership, PR, news, influencer and user-generated content/campaigns - spanning exhibition and collection storytelling, visitor experience content and theatrical pr moments.
- Build and nurture relationships with clients, venues, curators, cast and staff to gain access and create compelling, exclusive content that resonates with each target audience.
- Create and develop content and social brand guidelines and processes alongside the HOD, tailored to the different rhythms of Culture & Leisure and Theatre clients.
- Work with the HOD to develop and improve financial processes, identifying opportunities to increase department revenue through new or enhanced services.
- Support the HOD and other senior management with new business work more broadly - including proposals, benchmarking and sector positioning - beyond pitch activity.
Other Duties as Assigned
AKA is a fluid organisation, and advertising is a fast-moving and rapidly changing business; as such you may be required to undertake duties which are in line with the general purpose of this job description, but which are not specifically referred to. Some out-of-hours working (evenings and weekends) is occasionally required to ensure that time-sensitive content and social activity is delivered when needed. This includes but is not limited to theatrical press nights, exhibition and gallery openings, visitor attraction launches, and client and industry events.
