This role is responsible for receiving cattle hides from the Slaughterhall which are then trimmed, cleaned, stored, cured and prepared for Despatch.
Key Responsibilities
- Transfer hides from Slaughterhall to Hide Shed
- Prepare the hides to specification and Company standards, storing hides according to weight bandings
- Cure hides
- Prepare and despatch hide order
- Gut room duties including separating intestines into edible/non-edible and preparing these for washing
- Tripe room duties including washing edible intestinal parts, preparing for chilling according to customer specifications
- Ensure robust controls and that all relevant records and paperwork are accurately maintained
- Report any variances from specification to Team Leader
- General yard maintenance including loading and unloading of materials, operating forklifts and other machinery safely, keeping the yard clean and organised
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Assist with other tasks as needed, collaborate with all other departments to ensure smooth operations
