AK Plant Services is a small family run business based in Somerset which has an exciting opportunity for two experienced mobile plant engineers to join our team. The job will involve maintenance, repairs, servicing, and fault finding in hydraulics, pneumatics, diesel and petrol engines. The ideal candidate must have basic electrical and welding competency. The machines and equipment will include, but are not limited to, excavators, dumpers, rollers, screeners, forklifts, telehandlers, small tools and plant trailers.
The role is mainly field based, covering the South West region, Wales and M4/M5 Corridor, but you must also be willing to travel to other areas and stay away when required. Our workshop is based in Bridgwater, which you will be required to travel to, so being based within reasonable travelling distance to TA7 9BP is preferable.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Carry out servicing and maintenance of construction plant and equipment on customers' sites.
- Fault finding and repairs of construction plant and equipment on customers' sites.
- Complete all paperwork as required for jobs.
- Maintain company vehicle and equipment supplied.
All applicants must:
- Be a qualified or time served plant/agri engineer with at least 2 years of field service engineer experience.
- Hold a CSCS Card (desirable but not essential).
- Be willing to learn new skills.
- Have the ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Have a good understanding of electrics and hydraulics.
- Be able to use diagnostic equipment (full training given if required) to complete fault finding.
- Be a good team player.
- Be polite and customer focused.
- Be self-motivated and have excellent communication skills.
- Have a flexible attitude and be able to work alone and as part of a team.
