Are you an experienced Fibre Engineer looking to join an expanding team in Swansea and the surrounding area? We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented contractor to support our growing workload, specifically within the Virgin Media business network. If you have a strong technical background and take pride in precise, high-quality installations, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Fibre Auditing & Site Mapping: Conduct thorough site surveys, perform fibre auditing, and produce accurate site mapping documentation.
- Documentation: Maintain precise records and report results efficiently using Excel.
- Installation: Perform professional installation of fibre and Hydra cables, ensuring neat presentation and strict attention to detail.
- Testing & Labelling: Complete full testing and labelling of all installations to industry standards.
- Night Works: Participate in scheduled night work, such as circuit migrations. A premium rate of 1.25 will be applied to all night shifts.
What We Are Looking For
- Essential: In-depth, hands-on knowledge of the Virgin Media business network.
- Technical Skill: Proficiency in site surveys, mapping, and documentation.
- Quality Focused: Proven ability to produce clean, neat fibre installations.
- Location: Ability to work throughout Bristol and the surrounding areas.
Desirable Experience
- A strong splicing background (candidates with their own equipment are highly preferred).
- A strong knowledge of installing and commissioning telecommunications equipment.
- Solid understanding of Virgin Media core and transmission network.
Compensation & Terms
- Role Type: Contractor
- Day Rate: 220 per day (negotiable based on experience)
- Night Shift Premium: 1.25 rate for migrations
