AJW Distribution Ltd is a family‑run, independently owned business supplying roofing, cladding, and building materials to contractors, builders, merchants, and the general public. We pride ourselves on outstanding customer service and always going the extra mile to meet our customers’ needs. We are currently looking for a reliable and motivated HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. Based at our Sawston depot, you will play a key role in ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and with the high level of service our customers expect.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver roofing and cladding materials within your depot’s delivery area
- Operate a HIAB crane (training provided if required)
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any issues promptly
- Ensure all loads are checked, signed off, and secured correctly
- Always comply with road traffic laws and tachograph regulations
- Keep delivery paperwork accurate and up to date
- Wear PPE at all times and maintain high safety standards
- Deliver the correct products to the correct customers, providing excellent service
- Keep your vehicle clean and tidy
- Support yard staff when required
Qualifications & Requirements
- HGV Class 2 licence
- Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)
- Digital tachograph card holder
- Good communication skills
- Ability to complete paperwork clearly and accurately
- A positive, professional, and safety‑first approach

- Monday to Thursday: 7:00 am – 4:30 pm
- Friday: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
- No weekend work
- HIAB Licence preferred but not essential (training will be provided to the right candidate)
