AJS Asset Care are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our growing team. This is a field-based role supporting our contracted customers with maintenance and engineering services across FMCG sites throughout the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine planned maintenance, fault finding and corrective machine repairs, as well as lifting and rigging operations. The role offers varied work environments, regular travel, and the opportunity to work alongside a highly experienced engineering team.
Key duties
- General Mechanical Maintenance in Food and Manufacturing Factories
- Identifying problems with Industrial machinery
- Conducting corrective repair work
- Working on Conveyors with motors, gearboxes and belts
- Maintain Pumps connected to production machinery and pipework
- Inspection and replacement of bearings
- Testing and commissioning machinery after installs
- Assembling components to be installed onto factory equipment
- Conduct precision work such as Alignments and balancing
- Lifting and Rigging tasks to be completed in engineering workshops and on site
- Regular Routine Maintenance and Inspections to be completed
- Maintain accurate record of maintenance and work completed
