Strategically located at Unit 12A, Parkrose Industrial Estate, Middlemore Road, Smethwick, UK, AJS PROFILES LIMITED is committed to providing high‑quality, precise steel profiling and grinding services to meet diverse customer needs.
Role Description: This is an on‑site, full‑time Slinger position based in Smethwick. The successful candidate will assist with the lifting and moving of materials and equipment in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with company and safety standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing loads for lifting
- Working closely with machine operators
- Securely attaching loads
- Ensuring proper load balance during operations
- Assisting in maintaining a clean and organised work environment
Qualifications:
- Experience with safe slinging and rigging practices, including load securing and balance
- Familiarity with operating within industrial or construction environments and adhering to safety regulations
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with other team members
- Understanding of equipment maintenance and proactively identifying safety risks
- Valid certification or training in overhead crane and forklift is desirable
- Attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Physical fitness and ability to handle materials in a demanding environment
- Previous experience in the steel profiling or grinding industry is a plus
