Our client is a leading engineering and project services company who provide bespoke solutions across a number of marine related sectors. Due to growth they now require a Supplier Assurance Engineer to join their busy North East facility. The Role The purpose of this role will be to lead the supplier quality function, supporting colleagues in the Procurement function whilst driving best in class Supplier Quality Management. Provide technical support and advice to the Supply Chain, Sales, Project Management and Engineering teams regarding design for manufacture, quality requirements flow down, supplier selection, supplier capability and capacity Conduct Supplier Reviews. Review and approve supplier Inspection and Test Plans (ITP). Producing Progress Reports from the supplier reviews. Registering and responding to supplier NOIs (Notification of Inspection). Attending intervention/inspection points identified in the supplier ITPs. Registering and responding to supplier NCRs (Non-Conformances), TQs(Technical Query) and Concessions. Reviewing supplier Vendor Documentation Packs. Produce metrics on status of supplier performance. Review and update the “Supplier Quality Control” process on a bi-annual basis. The Person HNC/HND in a related engineering discipline. Extensive experience of quality control of engineering projects. Full understanding of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems. Excellent understanding and working knowledge of processes and procedures in a complex engineering and manufacturing environment. Preference for CSWIP 3.1 weld inspection / PCN level II NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) qualifications. Strong Health and Safety awareness. Knowledge of project management process and methodologies. Proficient report writing and metric generation skills backed up by strong MS Office knowledge. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Organised, analytical, self-motivated and professional. Problem solver, able to work independently, under pressure, with minimum supervision. Willingness to undertake local, national and international travel as part of the job role
