The role: Take ownership and provide technical leadership of a team of Engineers in the successful delivery of projects, within the specified time, budget, to the specification and the required quality standards. Senior Engineers may be assigned to multiple projects at any one time.

Leading the day to day Engineering tasks / deliverables of the Engineering team as the design authority, this could be associated with sales or project work. Provide supervision to a team of Engineers including coaching, mentoring, providing direction and intervention when required.

Ensure that design practices / guidelines are followed and provide input into continuous improvement activities, promoting a delivery focussed culture. Ensure that the Engineering team clearly understand their responsibilities throughout the full project lifecycle (concept through to installation), taking ownership to make key decisions, call reviews when required and check / approve design documentation within the design team.

Promote ownership to the Engineering team, ensuring there is a focus on delivery, commitment to hitting deadlines and working as efficiently as possible. Interpret mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control requirements to ensure that the project is designed to perform as required. Support the failure mode effect analysis (FMEA) process and take part in design safety reviews.

Ensure that mechanical, hydraulic and electrical interfaces are considered in the design process. Work with the other discipline engineers to ensure that correct interface information is used throughout the design.

The person: Engineering design and development experience, demonstrated over 8 years + in a relevant environment. Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject. Desirably, be a Member/Fellow of recognised Engineering body (e.g. IMechE) with Chartered Engineer status.

In depth knowledge and experience in design and manufacture of some or all of the following: Trenchers, Cable/Pipe lay, LARS and bespoke Onshore and Offshore equipment. Thorough knowledge of mechanical theory, design of mechanical systems and selection of components in the onshore, offshore and subsea sectors.
