We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Control Engineer to join our Control System Team. The successful candidate will design control & automation systems in the Offshore Energy sector; ensuring solutions clients' needs are met in a professional & timely manner.
You will be responsible for:
- Writing specifications, developing PLC code & HMI/SCADA solutions for a variety of equipment.
- Providing technical support during the construction phase of projects; including involvement in the commissioning & testing of equipment.
- Efficient management & prioritisation of workload.
- Taking ownership of the tasks assigned through to successful delivery within the specified time & budget.
- Delivering a high standard of work in line with our software quality control procedures.
Job requirements:
- Excellent technical knowledge of Control, Automation and Safety Systems.
- Appropriate Computer/Engineering related qualification (degree/HND) or comparable industrial experience.
- Relevant experience in:
- Design of control & automation systems.
- Programming of PLC, HMI & SCADA systems.
- Commissioning & Testing of industrial control systems.
- Involvement throughout the whole project lifecycle, from design through coding to testing, installation and documentation.
- Working for clients in the marine, subsea, oil & gas and renewables market.
- Recent experience of a similar role in a bespoke engineering environment.
- Experience of working to ISO9001 or equivalent in a project-based organisation.
Desirable Skills / Attributes:
- Experience of Siemens TIA Portal / Unified (preferred).
- Experience of Rockwell or Mitsubishi platforms.
- Experience of configuring & commissioning Variable Speed Drives (Siemens, Nidec & ABB).
- Previous experience within the Marine / Offshore / Subsea environment.
- Knowledge & experience of relevant functional safety standards (IEC61508, IEC61511, IEC13849).
