Our client is a multidisciplinary engineering company involved in the offshore and marine services sector. Due to projects won they now require a Naval Architect to be involved in the design and construction of offshore facilities.
The Role
- Seafastening design and verification
- Structural design
- On-site engineering support
- Support with proposals
- Provide guidance and technical support to graduate and junior engineers
- Liaise directly with clients and support the project leads
- Support with checking and quality control
- Complete on-site surveys
- Production of engineering calculations, reports and documentation
The Person
- Degree in Naval Architecture or another related engineering discipline
- 2+ Years experience within the offshore sector, with a focus on structural engineering, particularly offshore equipment and seafastening design and verification
- Experience with class rules for offshore and vessel engineering
- Experience using FEA software for structural design and verification
- Chartered engineer (or working towards it) with RINA, IMarEST, or equivalent
- Experience with design software such as AutoCad, FEA and Rhino3D
- Knowledge of marine sections such as offshore wind
