Our client is a leading engineering and project services company who provide bespoke solutions across a number of marine and defence related areas. Due to recent projects won they now require an Electrical Design Engineer to join their busy North East office.
The Role
- Electrical Design
- Specification Writing
- Specifying of parts
- Costing of Projects
- Technical Support to Customers
- Inspection and Test / FAT writing
- Working on Electrical Department Standardisation and Efficiency Initiatives
- Undertake the electrical design of work packs or projects with minimal supervision
- Delivery of complex engineering solutions to agreed time scales and budgets
- Ability to estimate, forecast, plan and execute to agreed plans
- Provide technical support and guidance for commissioning and installation activities
The Person
- Degree or Diploma qualified
- Recent experience of a similar role in a bespoke engineering environment
- Experienced in designing Power distribution systems at both 230V & 440VAC
- Machine control and instrumentation systems
- Control Panel design
- Motor starter or VSD design
- Experienced in Electrical CAD packages
- Experienced in working to ISO9001 or equivalent in a project based organization
- Eplan Electric P8 experience
- Previous experience within the Marine / Offshore environment
- Working knowledge of DNV GL & Lloyds rules
- Experience of working with Subsea Vehicles including design of High Voltage systems
- Knowledge & experience of relevant functional safety standards (IEC61508, IEC61511, IEC13849)
- Commissioning & Test experience (advantageous)
- A high level of competence with IT systems and tools
