Our client is a leading engineering and project services company who provide bespoke solutions across a number of marine and defence related areas. Due to recent projects won they now require a Storesperson to join their busy North East facility on a fixed-term 6 month contract basis.
The Role
- Responsible for the receipt and issue of all consumable, inventory and project stock.
- Safe storage of COSHH items.
- Maintain high levels of accuracy through regular cycle counting and efficient issuing.
- Collate orders for issue to shop floor via work orders or shop order pick lists.
- Pick, pack and dispatch goods to various destinations including suppliers and customers using 3 party logistics providers.
- Maintain accurate stock control records for all stock, issuing stock to the workshop and dispatching stock to remote sites for internal and external customers, returns to suppliers.
- Receipt of goods, confirm compliance with Delivery Note and Purchase Order, book onto IT system.
- Label goods, locate on racking/laydown area.
- Pick part list items from work packs and issue to workshop, record onto IT system.
- Pick and pack parts for dispatch in accordance with customer orders and logistics requests.
- Maintain accurate stock control, identify shortfalls and maintain agreed minimum stock levels.
- Raise Purchase Requisitions and liaise with Buyers for expedition of purchase orders.
- Issue and receive tools, equipment, PPE, consumables and lifting equipment to and from personnel, record on relevant registers.
- Ensure tools, equipment, PPE, consumables and lifting equipment are in calibration, tested and checked for damage/serviceability, quarantine as necessary.
- Deliver and collect goods as required in company vehicle.
- Identify whether COSHH/hazard data measures are applicable.
The Person
- Warehousing/Stores experience in an engineering and/or industrial environment.
- Competent IT skills Microsoft Office packages including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience with IFS system or similar MRP/ERP packages i.e. SAP.
- GCSE level or higher.
- Valid Mobile Plant/Forklift license for Counter Balance.
- Full Driving License.
