Our client is a world-leading manufacturer of equipment for the construction and mining industries. They are now looking for a number of Mechanical Fitters to work from their busy County Antrim facility.

The Role

  • Read and interpret complex prints and sketches in order to plan methods and sequence of assembly.
  • Performs diverse functions such as assemblies, fitting, adjusting, altering of gensets, RAD's, fuel systems etc.
  • Use a variety of power tools, hand tools and other equipment.
  • Report malfunctions on equipment.
  • Compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Compliance with the 5S programme and other business improvement initiatives.
  • Display behaviour and conduct fitting with our Values in Action.
  • Train other employees if and when required.
  • Any other appropriate duties.

The Person

  • Experience as a Fitter (Formal Apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent relevant qualification)
  • Previous fitter (assembly, fitting, adjusting, altering) experience in a lean manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience working to defined process times.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work from heights and in an enclosed work area.
  • A keen awareness and commitment to the highest standard of health and safety and quality.
  • A reasonable level of computer literacy would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Ability to work reasonable amounts of overtime and various shift patterns.

Hours of work and salary:

  • Day Shift - £16.75/hr
  • Night Shift - £22.33/hr
  • Overtime - £25.13/hr (First ten hours)
  • Overtime - £33.50/hr (After ten hours overtime)
  • 37.5 hours per week (Mon - Thurs
