What We Are Looking For
We are recruiting a Clinical Lead to join our Integrated Wheelchair Service. This role provides expert clinical leadership to the team, drives clinical operational performance and works with the operational management team on continuous quality improvement. You will support a team including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants, rehabilitation engineers and rehabilitation engineering technicians. You will work with the clinical director and other AJM wheelchair service leads/managers. We have established professional excellence networks and an embedded quality assurance framework. You will promote the service and the organisation through relevant national bodies and professional bodies. This role offers the opportunity to lead with vision to improve service user outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the clinical foundation of the service within the clinical governance framework; apply clinical policies and procedures, including clinical supervision, caseload management and clinical audit
- Manage, coach, lead and develop staff on a day-to-day basis
- Empower the team to achieve results within a measurable, structured approach; promote interdisciplinary working and accountability for actions and problem resolution
- Ensure clinical competency and high standards of practice in line with local, national and regulatory policy
- Promote the service across the county; partner with engagement teams to ensure service user involvement and joint working with other agencies
- Lead the clinical development of the service in line with national guidelines and evidence base developments
- Work with the service management team to meet key performance indicators
- Lead with advanced clinical reasoning to fit and, with tools, adjust equipment to meet service user needs; provide detailed instruction on safe use and care of equipment
- Hold your own clinical caseload and plan the rota of the clinical team in partnership with customer services
- Ensure holistic assessment of service users, identifying abilities, limitations and needs across physical, sensory, cognitive, perceptual and social functioning, and determine the need for onward referral
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must hold an Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Engineering qualification and hold either HCPC, RCT or AHCS registration.
