Ajax Equipment Ltd is a well-established engineering company with over 55 years’ experience designing and manufacturing specialist solids handling equipment for the food, pharmaceutical, confectionery, and fine chemical industries. We are now looking for a skilled Welder to join our manufacturing team, producing high-quality stainless steel fabrications.
The Role
- Weld stainless steel fabrications to a high standard
- Work from detailed engineering drawings
- Use TIG, MIG, and MMA welding processes
- Carry out coded welding standards (desirable)
- Perform full penetration and advanced weld techniques
- Work within tight tolerances and specifications
- Support Sheet Metal Workers during fabrication activities
- Ensure correct clamping to minimise distortion
- Carry out quality checks at key stages
- Maintain safe, clean, and organised work areas
What We’re Looking For
- Time-served apprenticeship (C&G/NVQL3)
- Strong TIG, MIG, and MMA welding skills
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Experience working to high standards
- Coded welding experience (desirable)
- Proactive, reliable, team-focused attitude
Pay & Benefits
- £15.73 per hour (£578 weekly basic)
- Attendance based Production bonus up to £66 per week (paid quarterly)
- OTE: £33,098 per year
- 36 3/4 hours per week and early finish Fridays
Overtime
- Time & a half (Mon–Sat)
- Double time (Sunday)
