AJW are looking for a Financial Accountant to be responsible for assisting with the preparation and submission of statutory accounts. This role will assist the Financial Reporting Manager in managing the year-end audit process ensuring accurate and timely provision of all supporting documentation and schedules. The position requires a high level of technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail with a strong focus on statutory compliance and audit readiness. This will be hired on a 6 month fixed-term contract.
What you will be doing
- Statutory Accounts & Reporting
- Prepare and complete statutory accounts workings for A J Walter Aviation Limited in accordance with IFRS and within the required deadlines.
- Coordinate with internal departments to gather required financial data and ensure completeness of information.
- Submit the year end ETB as well as the workings for the statutory accounts to the external auditors for their review.
- Review the financial statements prepared by the external auditors to ensure accuracy and in line with expectations.
- Audit Management
- Assist the Financial Reporting Manager in leading and managing the statutory audit process.
- Prepare all deliverables and working papers in line with the auditor requirements.
- Work with the Financial Reporting Manager as a primary point of contact for external auditors addressing queries and facilitating audit fieldwork.
- Ensure timely submission of audited accounts to Companies House and other relevant authorities.
Job requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent).
- Experience in the financial accounting year end or audit process.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS.
- Experience working with external auditors and managing the year end process either as the financial accountant or as the external auditor.
- Experience of Quantum and Aviation spares industry experience or experience of another complex industry sector would be desirable.
