Overview
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our operations adhere to regulatory standards and internal policies. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems, materials handling, and compliance protocols within a warehouse environment. The Compliance Officer will be responsible for monitoring compliance with safety regulations, conducting audits, and providing training to staff on compliance matters.
Regulatory & Product Compliance
- Ensure all eCommerce products meet applicable regulatory, legal, and quality standards (local and international).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product labeling, packaging, and import/export compliance requirements.
- Manage product certifications, documentation, and safety data (SDS/MSDS) for relevant product categories.
- Verify that suppliers and vendors comply with product safety, ethical sourcing, and quality standards.
- Review new product listings for compliance before publication on the website or marketplace platforms.
Warehouse Operations & Safety
- Conduct regular warehouse audits and inspections to ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Oversee correct storage, handling, and disposal procedures for all products, including hazardous or restricted materials if applicable.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for warehouse operations and product handling.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety, hygiene, pest control, and equipment maintenance protocols.
- Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure compliant product movement, packaging, and labeling for shipping.
Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain comprehensive compliance records, reports, and audit trails.
- Prepare and submit compliance reports to management and relevant authorities as required.
- Investigate and document any compliance breaches, product recalls, or customer complaints related to product safety.
- Monitor KPIs and generate insights to improve operational compliance and risk management.
Training & Internal Controls
- Train warehouse and eCommerce staff on compliance policies, product standards, and safety procedures.
- Develop and update internal compliance checklists and risk management frameworks.
- Promote a culture of compliance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement across all teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with purchasing, logistics, quality control, and customer service teams to ensure consistent compliance.
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory authorities, auditors, and external inspection agencies.
- Support new product launches by reviewing documentation and verifying regulatory readiness.
