Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Solar Electrician role based nationwide.
The Solar Electrician will install, commission, and maintain solar PV systems and battery storage solutions for residential and commercial properties.
Day-to-day tasks include performing electrical
wiring and connections, testing systems for safety and performance, diagnosing and resolving electrical faults, and carrying out routine maintenance and repairs. The role involves interpreting technical drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant electrical and safety regulations, and completing accurate documentation of work performed.
The Solar Electrician will collaborate with installation teams, communicate clearly with clients on system operation, and support continuous improvement in installation practices.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational knowledge of electricity and electrical principles relevant to solar PV systems.
- Practical experience in electrical work, including wiring, connections, and safe isolation procedures.
- Proficiency in maintenance & repair of solar installations and associated electrical components.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and system issues and implement effective, safe solutions.
- Background in electrical engineering or equivalent technical training related to renewable energy.
- Recognized electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) and relevant certifications; 18th Edition or local equivalent strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of UK electrical regulations and health and safety standards, including working at height and using appropriate PPE.
- Comfort with using testing equipment, monitoring tools, and basic digital reporting systems.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work effectively in a team and independently on-site.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client locations within the region.
