We are partnering with a premier data centre provider to recruit a dedicated and experienced MEP Project Manager. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in leading the successful delivery of complex data centre build projects. You will be responsible for ensuring effective coordination, communication, and compliance across all contractors and consultants, driving projects to completion on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Oversee and coordinate all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) aspects of major data centre construction projects.
  • Design Coordination: Work closely with the client's Design Management team to manage project deliverables from RIBA Stage 2 through to Stage 5 completion and handover.
  • Risk & Reporting: Manage and update the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and Project Risk Register, providing regular reports to the Head of Construction.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure rigorous Quality Control and Quality Assurance for all contracted works, actively monitoring inspections and managing any non-conformance issues.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for project escalations, customer site visits, and project changes, ensuring clear communication and swift resolutions.
  • Commercial Awareness: Collaborate with Cost Consultants to review proposals, manage budgets, and ensure value for money throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Health & Safety: Champion and enforce all Health & Safety requirements, ensuring strict compliance with CDM 2015 regulations.
  • Project Handover: Take full ownership of the Construction to Live Handover process, ensuring a seamless and successful transition to the end-user.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

Required:

  • Proven experience in construction or project management, specifically leading MEP packages.
  • Strong understanding of the RIBA Plan of Work and The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015.
  • Valid SMSTS and a suitable CSCS card.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and standard project management software.

Desirable:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (ideally Electrical or Mechanical Engineering) is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience in the construction of data centres or complex critical infrastructure (such as healthcare facilities) is highly advantageous.
