Job Description
Senior Design Engineer – Geotechnical Engineering
Our client is a leading specialist geotechnical contractor delivering complex foundation and ground-engineering solutions.
Its expertise includes bored and displacement piling, diaphragm walls, mini-piling, grouting, anchors, ground improvement and environmental engineering.
The Senior Design Engineer will develop competitive, buildable engineering solutions from work-winning and concept design through to project completion.
The role is focused on helping secure projects, improving site margins and supporting successful operational delivery.
Develop holistic geotechnical and foundation designs rather than focusing solely on individual pile elements.
Apply performance-based and observational design approaches where appropriate.
Review and interrogate project information, resolve technical requirements and incorporate agreed inputs into the final design.
Provide technical and design support across estimating, preconstruction and project-delivery teams.
Deliver clear technical handovers, including anticipated risks and pre-agreed mitigation measures.
Provide training, mentoring and knowledge-sharing across the engineering team.
Experienced in geotechnical, foundation or related civil-engineering design.
Able to develop commercially competitive solutions that consider efficiency, buildability and operational risk.
Agile, resilient and comfortable working in a changing project environment.
